This was the first and, in my opinion best, book written on how to survive after your primary boat sinks from underneath you and you're adrift in your raft. It has information on how to navigate, how to catch food (and eat it, sometimes just because you can catch it doesn't mean you should put it in your face), how to protect yourself from the sun and how to get the most essential element of open ocean survival, fresh water. If anyone is planning an extended open ocean passage a afloat they need to read and heed this one.

I had a copy years ago that somehow disappeared from my shelves (sailing friends, ahoy) and was glad to find I could get another copy. The used copy I purchased, however, didn't have the ocean current charts that the original had in the back.

A book that has been read but is in good condition. Very minimal damage to the cover including scuff marks, but no holes or tears. The dust jacket for hard covers may not be included. Binding has minimal wear. The majority of pages are undamaged with minimal creasing or tearing, minimal pencil underlining of text, no highlighting of text, no writing in margins.
