Kia Sorento (2003 - 2013) The Kia Sorento represented the company’s first real foray into the world of family SUVs. The first version was a traditional body-on-frame SUV with plenty of off-road ability and a long roster of standard equipment. Engine choices comprised a 3.5-liter V6 or a 2.5-liter four-cylinder. In 2007, the 3.5 V6 was replaced by a 3.8 V6, which greatly increased its towing capacity. In 2009 the second-generation Sorento appeared. It was lighter than its predecessor, and also had a 2.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. It was good to drive, safe and well equipped.
